WINSLOW, MAINE—David Brophy died on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at home, as a
result of injuries incurred in an automobile accident the prior year.

The son of the late Rebecca and Henry Brophy, David graduated from Lawrence High
School in Fairfield, Maine, class of 1950. He also graduated from Maine Maritime
Academy in 1955.

David served as Lt. JG in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hancock. He moved to
Wakefield, MA with his wife, the former Joyce Fuller for one year to work with his
uncle. Following that he moved back to Waterville, Maine and worked as a salesman
with his father at Imperial Motors.

David worked most of his career as a sales rep. for various food brokers. At one time
he had his own deli (The Mogul) at Sugarloaf. Following retirement, he started his own
company, KSJ Inc., which he was still operating at the time of his accident.

David was a life-time member of the Masons, and a former member of the Waterville
Country Club. He enjoyed his camp on East Pond, and the family cottage in Castine,
Maine for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brophy; his daughters, Kelly Frederick and her
husband, John, Sally Brophy and her wife, Conny Hatch, and Jan Homer and her
daughter, Christina; special family members, Krystal and Dustin Lacombe; his brothers,
John Brophy and his wife, Dona, and their family, and Richard Brophy and his wife,
Sylvia and their family; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Faith Christopher
and their family; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Terry and her late husband, Dr. Dan
Terry, and their family, and Jane Farr and her husband, Jim.

David’s family was able to bring him home for a short visit with hospice care, sharing
quality time together, enjoying moments of laughter and great memories of his life with
special help from Cathi Leclair, and the outstanding hospice team from HealthReach.

Special thanks also to the staff at Glenridge for the care he received there, and Maine
Medical Center and Maine General Medical Center, all of whom gave great care for
over a year.

At his request, private services will be held for the family. For those who wish,
donations can be made to HealthReach Hospice, 10 Water St., Suite 307, Waterville,
ME 04901.
