ROBBINS. Burton J. Robbins, 75, of Norwich, husband of the late Alice J. Roberts, 
died Thursday (Nov. 3) at the W.W. Backus Hospital. He was born in Providence, 
R.I., April 5, 1919, the son of the late Burton and Melissa Dean Robbins. He was 
employed as head custodian for the Norwich Board of Education for 30 years. 
Survivors include four sons, William J. of Bozrah, Thomas E. of Manlius, N.Y., John D. 
of Norwich, and Stephen J. of Hartford; two daughters, Melissa J. Robbins of Norwich, 
and Eileen M. Robbins of Hamden. The funeral will be Saturday, 8:30 a.m., from the 
Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home, 82 Cliff St., Norwich, followed by a Mass of Christian 
Burial, 9:30 a.m., in St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 
Norwich. Calling hours are today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly make 
donations to St. Mary's Church Development Fund, 70 Central Ave., Norwich 06360.
