Francis R. Aimers, 81, of 4420 Tama St. SE, died Monday, May 22, 1995, in St. Luke's 
Hospital from a longtime respiratory disease. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, First United 
Methodist Church, Marion, by the Rev. Mark Tuttle. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. 
Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the 
church. 

 Survivors include his wife, Lulu; two daughters, Audrey Swalley of Cedar Rapids and 
Amber Beeler of Flossmoor, Ill.; two sons, Rodney of Cedar Rapids and Allan of 
Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Eva Touchae and Floy Wolfe, both of Cedar Falls. 

 Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ellis; four sisters, Margaret 
Duncan, Hazel Slick, Fern Gilbert and Blanche Jones; and a grandson, Steven 
Swalley. 

 Francis was born April 2, 1914, in Dundee, the son of Robert and Jennie Slick 
Aimers, and married Lulu V. Schanbeck there on Feb. 28, 1933. Francis worked as a 
superintendent and plant manager for Highway Equipment Co., Pickwick Co. and 
Barnard and Leas Co., all of Cedar Rapids, and John Wood Co. in Chicago and 
Pennsylvania. He was president of Aimers Manufacturing Co., Chicago. While in the 
Chicago area he was chairman of the building committee of Hazel Crest Community 
Methodist Church.
