WEST BROOKFIELD - Louis Gagliardi Jr., 77, of Long Hill Road, a retired mechanic 
and a carpenter for 20 years, died Sunday in Mary Lane Hospital, Ware, after a short 
illness. 

 He leaves his wife of 50 years, Helen L. (Broga) Gagliardi; a daughter, Mary Lou 
Gagliardi of West Brookfield; three sisters, Marie Chobot and Elvira Siana, both of 
West Brookfield, and Louise Puchta of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was born 
and raised in Brimfield, son of Louis Gagliardi Sr. and Delia (McCarville) Gagliardi, and 
lived here 51 years. 

 He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Forces.. 

 Mr. Gagliardi owned and operated the Town Farm with his father for 12 years. He 
then worked as a carpenter for 20 years for William Burtt Construction Co. in 
Leicester. After that, he was a mechanic at William E. Wright Co. in West Warren for 
five years, retiring in 1982. 

 A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East 
Main St. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial 
contributions may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, PO Box 540, West 
Brookfield, MA 01585.
