Alice M. Barto

March 29, 1914-March 10, 2006

Alice Marie Barto, 91, formerly of 3650 East Township Road 164, Green Springs, died 
Friday at Elmwood Assisted living in Green Springs.

Alice was born March 29, 1914, in Jackson Township to the late Charles Wilbur and 
Lola M. (Zink) Longanbach. On Dec. 24, 1933 she married William Oral Barto, who 
preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1993.

Survivors include her children, Joanne M. (Merle) Hirt of Fremont, Allen Eugene 
"Gene" (Patricia) Barto of Tiffin, Larry O. (Marna) Barto of Green Springs, Doris E. 
(Robert) Dull and Bonnie L. (Jerry) Hull, both of Tiffin, Deborah L. Barto of Fresno, 
Calif., and Rebecca S. (Pete) Berry of Toledo. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 
16 great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, 
Forest and Leland Longanbach, and two grandchildren.

Alice was a homemaker and a graduate of Old Fort High School class of 1931 and 
Tiffin Business School in 1933. She was a very active member of First Missionary 
Church in Clyde where she taught Sunday School and played the organ for many 
years. She was a member of the Union Grange and was also active in the Farm 
Bureau.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Green Springs and 
one half-hour before the service Wednesday at the church.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Missionary Church in Clyde with Pastor Henry 
Favorite officiating.

Memorials: First Missionary Church.
