ROTTERDAM - Walter A. Dwojakowski, 77, of Bernice Street, died Wednesday at St.
Clare's Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Dwojakowski was born in Amsterdam and attended Nott
Terrace High School.
For 42 years, he worked for the General Electric Large Motors and Generator
Department, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Dwojakowski was a communicant of the Church of St. Adalbert.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club.
During World War II, Mr. Dwojakowski served in Europe with the U.S. Army.
His wife, Laura Winney Dwojakowski, whom he married Sept. 1, 1946, died Aug. 15,
1997.
Survivors include a son, William Dwojakowski of Schenectady; three daughters,
Lolaanne Dwojakowski of Rotterdam, Janice Lawyer of Binghamton and Carolyn
Krajewski of Rotterdam; three sisters, Genia čJean" Rubinski, Bernadine Mastroianni
and Alfreda Balga, all of Schenectady; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Leszczynski Funeral Home, 716 Crane
St., followed at 9 at the Church of St. Adalbert where a Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial in St. Adalbert's Cemetery will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church.
