MENANDS Mary E. ''Bette'' Farnan DeNure, 71, died Thursdayat her home. 

 Mrs. DeNure was born in Plattsburgh, and she moved to Menands as a child. 

 She was a graduate of the Milne School in Albany, and Wheelock College in Boston. 

 Mrs. DeNure worked for many years as an elementary school teacher in Loudonville, 
and as a customer service representative at Hoffman's Ltd., in Latham. 

 She was a member and former elder of the Bethany Presbyterian Church. 

 She was the widow of Donald P. DeNure. 

 Survivors include a daughter, Mary E. DeNure-Aspinwall of Fairfield, Conn.; her 
mother, Hazel A. Jerrett of Black Mountain, N.C.; a brother, William D. Farnan of 
Wyckoff, N.J.; and two grandsons. 

 A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 2, at the Bethany Presbyterian 
Church, 21 Lyon Ave. 

 Mrs. DeNure donated her remains to the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical 
College. 

 Contributions may be made to the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 21 Lyon Ave., 
Menands, NY 12204, or to the American Cancer Society, 1450 Western Ave., Albany, 
NY 12203. 

 Arrangements are by Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany.
