Services will be Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral home for Mrs. Isabel Coons 
McComas, 74, who was found dead Monday in her apartment at 1320 W. 27th. She 
apparently had a heart attack and died several hours earlier. She was born March 6, 
1900 at Mexico, Mo. and lived in Topeka 44 years.

She was graduated in 1919 from William Woods College at Fulton, Mo. and received a 
BA degree in 1921 from the University of Missouri. She received a masters degree in 
sociology from the University of Southern California in 1941. She was a member of 
Kappa Kappa Gamma alumnae and was the oldest delegate at the sorority's national 
convention in 1973. Mrs. McComas had done social service work for both and state 
and county welfare departments many years.

She was a member of First Congregational Church and the board of trustees at the 
church. She also was a member of the auxiliary at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

She was married to Milburn P. McComas in 1924 at Westmoreland. He died February 
19, 1968.

Survivors include a son, William P. McComas, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and a grandchild. 
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
