Hugh Nichols was a Police Officer in Nampa, Idaho. He died in the line of duty at age 
45. Officer Nichols was found dead in front of a local Ford Dealership, shot once in 
the head by a .32 caliber handgun. It is believed that he discovered the back door of 
the building open, and proceeded to the front of the building. He had his gun drawn 
and flashlight turned on. He began looking through the glass windows. After the 
shooting, the suspect or suspects fled the scene, they were never apprehended. 
Officer Nichol's body was found by the morning milkman. Officer Nichols was survived 
by his wife and four children.
