Jeanne M. Dixon (nee Owens) 


Jeanne M. Dixon (nee Owens), 86, of Gurnee, died Monday, January 31, 2005 at 
Winchester House, Libertyville. 

 Services for Jeanne will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the 
Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Ave., with visitation from 10 a.m. until time 
of service. Interment will be at Millburn Cemetery. 

 Jeanne was born January 24, 1919 in Hebron, WI and graduated from Waukegan 
Twp. High School class of 1936. She was a member of the Gurnee Community Church, 
and sang in the church choir and directed various choirs including children's choirs 
across the country. 

 Jeanne is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Dixon, to whom she was 
married on March 22, 1941 and two sons; James (Elizabeth) Dixon of Silverthorne, CO, 
and John (Drayhung) Dixon of Colorado Springs, CO, five grandchildren; six great-
grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth R. Owens (Dorothy nee Yumplot) of Waukegan, 
one sister, Marjorie (Everd) Boyer of Waukegan. 

 She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Balz-Funk. 

 Arrangements were entrusted to the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME. 

 Donations in her memory to the Winchester House or the Gurnee Community Church 
would be appreciated.
