Deanna Dee Nichols December 9, 1939 - September 8, 2009 SALEM - Deanna Dee 
Nichols, the youngest daughter of Orville and Nina Warden Nichols, was born on 
December 9, 1939 in Ontario, Oregon. She died in Salem on September 8, 2009. The 
Nichols girls grew up on a large cattle ranch near Ironside, Oregon. Deanna was a 
1957 graduate of Vale Union High School, after which she attended the University of 
Oregon and Nampa Business College. Her entire working career was a bookkeeper 
and an accountant in the Salem area. Through the years she was employed by the Ink 
Spot Printers, The Mortgage Bankers Company, and she retired from the Oregon Home 
Builders Association. Deanna had traveled extensively throughout the world. She is 
survived by her two sisters, Wanda (Merle) Nelson of Salem and Donna (Verne) 
Duncan of Milwaukie; six nephews and nieces, Ross Nelson, Grant Nelson, Larry 
Nelson, Dr. Lloyd Nelson, Annette Kirk and Christine Didway; 12 great nephews and 
nieces and five great-great nephews and nieces. Her Memorial service will be 
conducted by the Rev. Katie Pate at the Milwaukie Presbyterian Church, 2416 Lake 
Road in Milwaukie at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. Contributions should be made 
to The Nature Conservancy, Medical Teams International, or to Susan G. Komen Race 
for the Cure .
