OBITUARIES: E.W. 'Bill' Brinda July 11, 1939-Oct. 20, 2008

PENDLETON - Former Heppner resident E. W. "Bill" Brinda, 69, of Pendleton died 
Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at Willowbrook Terrace in Pendleton. A memorial service will 
be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at St. Patrick's Senior Center in Heppner. 

 Mr. Brinda was born July 11, 1939, in Cascade, Idaho, to William and Verna Nichols 
Brinda. He was raised and attended school in Idaho until 1951, when the family moved 
to Mitchell and then Ukiah. The family settled in Heppner, where he graduated from 
high school in 1957. 

 He attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. He then began building boats 
in Salt Lake City, and later worked in quality control for an aeronautical technology 
firm until 1986. When he became disabled with multiple sclerosis he returned to 
Heppner. He moved into a nursing home in 2000. 

 He enjoyed fishing, airplanes and the mountains. 

 Mr. Brinda is survived by his sister, Judy Stevens of Heppner; brother Larry Brinda of 
Boise, Idaho; son Billy Brinda of Salt Lake City; daughters Tammy Brinda and Bonnie 
Arnold, both of Salt Lake City; and 6 grandchildren. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents. 

 Memorial contributions may be made to the South Morrow County Neighborhood 
Center, P.O. Box 895, Heppner, OR 97836. 

 Sweeney Mortuary of Heppner is in charge of arrangements.
