Ronald Hugh Duell Ret. Lt. Col., age 90, of Payette, passed away Friday, Apr. 9, 2010 
at The Cottages in Payette. 

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday April 14, 2010 at Park View 
Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho. Chaplain Norman Geyer will officiate. Arrangements 
are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. 

Ronald was born February 17, 1920 in Fruitland, Idaho to Ray and Esther (Nichols) 
Duell. He graduated from Fruitland High School in 1938, and attended the College of 
Idaho on a football Scholarship. He joined the US Army where he served in the 
Artillery as an early pioneer in Army Aviation. In addition to being a combat veteran of 
World War II and Korea, Ron served his country in Germany, Japan, and finally in 
Pakistan. He retired in 1966 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was an avid bird hunter and 
loved to shoot skeet. He also enjoyed fixing things and was an accomplished wood 
worker. 

Ron is survived by three sons, Ronald E. (Judy) Duell, Dennis (Cheryl) Duell and 
Steve (Candy) Duell, Brother-in-law, Ray Smith and special friend Jeanette Dyer; 
Seven grandchildren, Derrick (Melanie) Duell, Troy (Brooks) Duell, Ashely Duell (Mike) 
Matheny, Heather Duell (Randy) Bennett, Kimberly Duell (Alan) Grant, Amanda Duell 
(Marshall) Myler, Ryan Duell; 13 great grandchildren; Two nieces, Cami Smith (Tony) 
Uria, Kelly Smith (Mike) King. 

He is preceded in death by three wives, Louise Ficken Duel, Bertha Lee Crizer Duell, 
Marion Scribner Duell, his parents, and his sister Wanda (Bonnie) Duell Smith. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a favorite charity of your choice
