Susan M. Chaffee, 54, of Lyndonville died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, December 24, 
2013 at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon.

She was born March 23, 1959 in St. Johnsbury, VT the daughter of Neal and Beverly 
(Ruggles) Chaffee. She graduated from High School in Enfield, CT. 

Susan worked as a hair dresser for nearly thirty years in Vermont, Connecticut and 
Texas. 

Susan loved animals and was a member of the American Humane Society. She was an 
avid movie buff and an artist who loved to draw and paint. She enjoyed family time 
and picnics, crocheting and her beloved dogs and cats.

Survivors include her mother and her step father, Beverly (Ruggles) Gess and Richard 
Gess of West Burke; her daughter, Ashley Chaffee of Wheelock; her companion, 
Bernard Holmes of Lyndonville; five sisters, Jessica Wornick and husband Robert of 
Texas, Donna Wilson and husband Paul of Connecticut, Sally Duda and husband 
Gregory of West Burke, VT, Valorie Chaffee of Connecticut and Cynthia Cline and 
husband James of North Carolina; a sister in-law, Karen White of Connecticut; many 
nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by her father, Neal Chaffee and her brother, Edward Chaff
