Nichols, Maxine "June", 93, of Newport Beach, passed peacefully at her home on 
Tuesday morning, March 4, 2014. She was the oldest of four children born to Charles 
C. Richardson and Tillie Helgeson Richardson in St. Maries, Idaho. June attended 
Chico State University and enjoyed her lifetime as a secretary, working well into her 
mid 80's. She married Robert "Bob" Nichols in 1966. June's favorite times were with 
her bridge group at the Costa Mesa Senior Center, cheering her football and 
basketball teams and most of all her annual three month travel trailer trips with her 
husband Bob to every place "up north". June's greatest love was for animals. She was 
happiest with a dog in her lap and attributed her longevity to healthy home cooked 
meals and the hundreds of miles she logged taking daily walks with her dogs around 
the Newport Back Bay. She is survived by her husband and her two sisters, Virginia 
Ochsner of Newport Beach, California and Shirley Sherrick of Spokane, Washington.
