Helen Lusk Peek, of Avery, Texas, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014, at a De 
Kalb, Texas nursing center. She was 92. Helen was born March 11, 1922, in Fort 
Worth, Texas, to Brice and Nell Ferry Lusk. 

She was a retired teacher and a member of Red River Teachers Association. Helen 
was a member of First Baptist Church in Avery, Texas and a member of the Rebecca 
Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wright Peek, on April 1, 2013; 
and a daughter, Kathy Peek, in 1964.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Vernon Eastepp of Avery, 
Texas; two grandchildren and their spouses, Carla and Chad Ellison of Buna, Texas 
and Elliott and Deanna Eastepp of Whitehouse, Texas; seven great grandchildren, 
Connor, Collin and Claire Ellison and Calvin, Valarie, Mariah and George Eastepp; as 
well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10:00AM Friday, September 12, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Avery, 
Texas with Rev. Michael Churchill and Rev. Harold Churchill officiating. Interment will 
follow at Avery Cemetery.
