Vivienne Daubek Maule
Vivienne Daubek Maule was born June 8, 1917 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma of 
Czechoslovakian parents. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M where she met Tallie 
Maule and they were married in 1941.


After the war, Tallie's architectural studies and career took them all over the world: 
Tokyo and Okinawa with Skidmore Owings and Merrill architectural firm, American 
Academy in Rome for Tallie's architectural fellowship, Europe, the Middle East, North 
Africa and India with their infant daughter, Sara, in tow.


In 1954 they settled in San Francisco. Vivienne loved being a part of the creative 
lives of her husband, the architect, and daughter, the dancer. She loved San 
Francisco and her neighbors and was a vital part of her neighborhood.


Vivienne was widowed in 1974 and as a self-taught investor, succeeded in sustaining 
herself in her home on Jackson Street. This was an achievement of which she was 
very proud. She was fiercely independent and self-reliant in all her decisions and 
actions and was frequently observed executing her own house repairs from precarious 
perches such as window boxes or roof. She lived (and preached) her belief that health 
is the result of correct diet.  She died on November 23, 2013 at the age of 96.


She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974 and sister, Norma Dwyer in 2008. 
She is survived by her daughter, Sara, son in law David Arnold, nieces and nephew 
Carol Brown, Peggy Manuel, Irene Wilson, Judy Fergusen, Linda Maule, and Richard 
Maule and their progeny.
