Dorothy Dart Carter Littledike Neilson 

 Our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend passed away April 1, 2007 
at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. She came out of a two-week coma in mid-January 
with a very clear mind and a frail body. We were grateful to have her with us a little 
longer and were able to celebrate her 74th birthday with her. 

 Born March 18, 1933 to Charles Dart and Estelle Francom in Spanish Fork, UT. A 
strong tendency to do things her own way coupled with the pride of her Irish ancestry 
led her to claim and celebrate March 17 as her birthday. She eloped with Orvil P. 
Carter as a teenager and they had one daughter together before divorcing two years 
later. Married Howard Littledike in 1958 and was widowed in 1977. Meanwhile, she 
got her GED and continued her education at Salt Lake Community College, graduating 
with an LPN in 1979. She enjoyed her work as a nurse until she retired at age 63. She 
found a new life at this time when she met and married Ray Neilson, who proved to be 
as much of a character as she was. She loved Ray's family as her own and had a 
special closeness to Robert, Michael, Gaydra and their families. They made the most 
of their eleven years together fishing, camping, and sharing in each others' family's 
activities. Being with family was her greatest joy. A woman of strength and 
determination, she loved deeply and generously. Dot leaves a powerful legacy to 
those to knew her. 

 She is survived by her loving husband Ray - Las Vegas, NV; daughter ArvaDale (Joe) 
Ashman Ð Fillmore, UT; sister Effie Mae Rusk; brother James A. Dart; grandchildren 
Jody (Milt) Lawhorn Ð Fillmore, UT; Josh (Tina) Ashman Ð SilverCreek Ranch, MO; 
Nathan Ashman Ð Fillmore, UT; Amber (Phoukhane) Chandara Ð Cedar City, UT; 
great-grandchildren Hannah & Josie Lawhorn, Tyler & Jesselyn Ashman, and Allen Joe 
Chandara. Preceded in death by siblings Frank Dart and Bertha Wood. 

 Informal memorial at Palm Mortuary (Las Vegas, Tues., April 10, 3:00 pm). Graveside 
memorial in Fillmore, UT (Fillmore Cemetery; Wed., April 11, 2:00 pm).
