Verl Larry Pierce, Dodi Pierre, age 80, passed away Friday, May 7, 2004, of natural 
causes. He resided at the Hearthstone Manor, in Spanish Fork. 

 He was born March 10, 1925, in Provo, Utah. His parents were George Major and 
Jennie Brown Pierce. He married Nada Lavern Young, February 26, 1943. They were 
later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple on September 22, 1992. 

 Larry loved his horses and dogs. He loved to camp and ride his horses. He was a 
member of the Cocklebur Riding Club. His hobbies were square-dancing, bowling; and 
most of all, he loved to roller-skate, and play the harmonica. In his youth. he enjoyed 
performing on his roller-skates. He loved yard work and pampered his roses. He retired 
from Geneva Steel after 38 years; he was employed as a Scarfer. 

 Survivors include his daughters and son: Sandra Pierce, Payson; Sheila (Robert) 
Ellertson, Orem; Randy (Alan) Robinson, Springville; Cindy (Brad) Wilkins, Helper; 
Jeffrey Kim (Janet) Pierce, and Shauna (Marc) Lowham, of Spanish Fork.; 27 
grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was 
preceded in death by his wife, Lavern; his son, Larry Micheal; a grandson, Jeffrey 
Burnette; and 12 brothers and sisters. 

 Funeral services will be Monday, May 10, 2004, 1 p.m., at the Walker Mortuary, 587 
South 100 West, Payson, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial 
will be in the Payson City Cemetery. 

 The family would like to express appreciation to Brian and the staff of Hearthstone 
Manor; the Beehive Homes of Orem; and to the staff at the American Fork Hospital.
