Jane O'Neil Wallis Burrell was employed by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in 
World War II, in X-2 Counter-Espionage Branch. Post-war, she worked in the SSU 
(Strategic Services Unit) in Washington, DC. She transitioned to the Central 
Intelligence Group, and then worked for the Central Intelligence Agency - stationed in 
Paris. 

On January 6, 1948, she was killed in an airplane crash while on official travel, at 
Gonesse, France (a suburb of Paris), on a flight from Brussels to Le Bourget Airfield, 
(outside of Paris, France).
