BUSHNELL - Dr. William R. Theobald, 85, of 20200 N. 1900th Road died at 8:25 p.m. 
Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Avon Nursing Home in Avon. 

 Born Nov. 16, 1916, in Raub, N.D., to Forrest M. and Eva M. White Theobald, he 
married Betty Highfill on Dec. 15, 1946, in Urbana. She survives. 

 Also surviving are one son, Greg (and Karen) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother, Dr. 
Gerald of Bushnell; two sisters, Helen (and Nick) Danny of Long Beach, Calif., and 
Pat Young of North Marathon, Fla.; and two grandchildren. 

 He was preceded in death by one sister. 

 A graduate of Minot State Teachers College in Minot, N.D., he taught school in North 
Dakota for two years. He later received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from 
Kansas State University and practiced veterinary medicine in Bushnell from 1947 to 
1984. 

 He was a life and honor roll member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association. 

 A member of the Illinois Angus Association, he was a breeder of Angus cattle since 
1962. He served on the Bushnell-Prairie City School Board in 1958 and 1959. 

 Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. The Rev. 
Martha Scaff will officiate. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, 
where visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight. Burial will be in Bushnell Cemetery. 

 Memorials may be made to Bushnell United Methodist Church or to the Avon Nursing 
Home Activity Fund.
