Daughter of third mayor of city dies
Mrs. Juliet Raynor Jenne expires in Genesee Sanitarium today

Mrs. Juliet Raynor Jenne, daughter of Alfred H. Hovey, third mayor of Syracuse and
widow of Henry S. Jenne, died this morning at the Genesee sanitarium, aged 74 years.
Mrs. Jenne had been in -- health for some time. Her husband died in December at
Rochester and it is believed the shock of his death hastened her own end.
Mrs. Jenne was born in this city in 1842. Her marriage to Mr. Jenne then assistant
postmaster at Oswego, took place October 8th, 1872.
She was widely known in this city, particularly among the older residents. Her family
was one of the first to settle in the vicinity. The old Hovey homestead was located in
James street. Mr. Hovey served as mayor during the year of 1850.
Mrs. Jenne leaves a sister, Mrs. W. H. Myers of Milwaukee, Wis., and a brother,
Howard Hovey of Detroit, Mich. The funeral will be held from the home of Mrs. Jenne's
cousin, Mrs. Frank L. Loman, No. 307 Liberty street on Wednesday afternoon.
