Earl B. Pealstrom, a 60-year resident of California and a 50-year resident of Yucca 
Valley, died Feb. 27, 2016, in Desert Hot Springs, at the age of 79. 

 The son of E.B. Pealstrom and Ida Judd, he was born Dec. 16, 1936, in Rock Island, 
Illinois. 

 He served in the U.S. Navy. 

 He was an employee of Southern California Edison for 35 years before eventually 
retiring. 

 Earl met Marci R. Vanderbilt in Long Beach. They were married May 28, 1958. They 
moved to the desert in 1967, where Earl was working at SCE, Devers Substation. 

 Earl was a longtime member of the Boy Scouts and was a cub master of Pack 75. He 
coached many teams for the Parks and Recreation Department of Yucca Valley. Earl 
was a member of the PTA, PTSA, the local radio club and the American Legion. He 
was a longtime member of The Living Desert, Train Club, the San Diego Zoo and the 
Palm Springs Air Museum. Along with Marci, he was a charter member of the local 
Humane Society. 

 For many years Earl drove the Sunday school bus and taught Sunday school at 
Calvary Baptist Church. 

 Earl loved his computers, radios and trains. He wore an old Rock Island Train hat 
everywhere! 

 Earl and Marci were planning a long train trip for their 58th wedding anniversary in 
May. 

 Happy rails honey! 

 Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister, Wayne and 
Marg Pealstrom. 

 He is survived by wife Marci, of Yucca Valley, son Eric B. Pealstrom, of Tustin, 
"nephew" Jerry Poe, of Yucca Valley, nephew Barry Pealstrom, of Washington, and 
niece Josett Pealstrom, of Washington. 

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice.
