 Lewis C. Hatfield, 76, of Tahuya died July 29. 

 He was born in Seattle, attended West Seattle High School and graduated from 
Clover Park High School in 1948. He lettered in both tennis and football. 

 Mr. Hatfield was employed at Fawcett Garage and St. Regis Paper Company, where 
he was elected president of the Paper Makers Union in 1955. The Teamsters Union 
hired him that same year. He will be remembered for the "many accomplishments for 
the good of his members as executive officer of Teamsters Local No. 461". A 
volunteer firefighter/first responder/battallion chief, he also served as president of 
Shorebrook Community Club. As a member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, he 
served on the Bishop's committee. 

 He is survived by his sons, Lewis A. Hatfield. Eddie G. Hatfield and Rey G. 
Rodriguez; his daughter, Danielle Hatfield-Macomber; six grandchildren; two sisters, 
Donna Ross and Luanne Hatfield; and his brother, Robert Hatfield. 

 Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Shorebrook Community Beach 
in Tahuya.
