MARLENE MAE VAUGHAN, 64, of Black Butte Ranch, Ore., formerly of Steuben 
County, died Monday at her home. Born in Steuben County, she moved to Black Butte 
Ranch in 1992 from Lake Oswego, Ore., where she had lived for 25 years. She was a 
past president of Black Butte Ranch Women's Association, treasurer of Black Butte 
Ranch Ladies Golf Group and editor of the Sisters Habitat for Humanity's newsletter. 
Surviving are her husband, Bruce; a son, Jeff of Tualatin, Ore.; a daughter, Cheryl 
Hartley of Molalla, Ore.; her mother, Rowena Clark of Black Butte Ranch; and four 
grandchildren. Memorial service at 11:30 PST (2:30 p.m. Fort Wayne time) Saturday at 
Sisters Community Church, Sisters, Ore. Calling after service. Memorials to Central 
Oregon Hospice, 2698 NE Courtney Drive, Bend, OR 97701, or Sisters Habitat for

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in Sisters Community 
Church for Marlene Mae Vaughan, who died Jan. 24 of cancer at age 64. 

 Mrs. Vaughan was born March 22, 1935, in Hamilton, Ind. Her maiden name was 
Clark. She moved to Lake Oswego in 1968 and to Black Butte in 1993, and was a 
homemaker. She was a member of Lake Grove Presbyterian Church and Pines 
Community Church in Camp Sherman, a past president of the Black Butte Ranch 
Women's Association, past treasurer of the Black Butte Ranch Ladies Golf Group and 
editor of the Sisters Habitat for Humanity newsletter. In 1954, she married Bruce 
Vaughan. 

 Survivors include her husband; daughter, Cheryl Hartley; son, Jeff; mother, Rowena 
Clark; and four grandchildren. 

 Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Central Oregon 
Hospice, 2698 N.E. Courtney Dr., Bend 97701-7637. Arrangements are by Autumn 
Funerals in Bend.
