Lowell W. McGowan, 81, of Bryan and Montpelier areas, passed away Sunday 
morning, December 6, 2015, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. 

Lowell was born in Fulton County, Ohio, on March 25, 1934, the son of Charles and 
Eva (Rupp) McGowan. On January 3, 1952, he married Anna Clark, who preceded him 
in death in 2005. On May 2, 2009, he married Gladys Altaffer, and she survives. 

Prior to his retirement in 2009, he had worked at the Aro Corporation in Bryan for many 
years. 

Also surviving is his son, William (Craig) McGowan of Ft. Wayne, IN; two 
grandchildren, Andy (Darlene) Doriot of West Unity, ad Nick (Kelly) Doriot of SC; six 
great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Lucy (Terry) Ekberg of CO; and two step-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, both parents, son Charles 
McGowan, and daughter, Mary Doriot. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 
P.M. at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. The funeral service will be held at 10 
A.M. Thursday, also in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Shiffler Cemetery, 
near Bryan. 

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Lung 
Association or the University of Toledo Medical Center.
