LE ROY -- George Rumsey, 88, of Le Roy, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, died 
Friday evening (Feb. 23, 2007) at Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw. 

 Mr. Rumsey was born May 26, 1918, in Batavia, a son of the late Albert and Laura 
(Reed) Rumsey. After his war service, he worked as bricklayer, retiring from Doehler-
Jarvis in Batavia. Mr. Rumsey was a longtime member of the Stafford United Methodist 
Church, and a Stafford Exempt Fireman. 

 Survivors include his children, Stephen (Cathy) Rumsey of Arizona, Cheryll Fernaays 
of Le Roy and Dave (Dawn) Rumsey of Stafford; sisters, Frances Ford of Batavia and 
Elizabeth (Warren) Ward of Batavia; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many 
nieces and nephews. 

 He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth; brothers, Arthur, Albert, and Howard; and 
son-in-law, Michael Fernaays. 

 Family and friends may attend a memorial service in his memory at 10 a.m. 
Wednesday at Stafford United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the convenience of 
the family at Stafford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. 

 Arrangements were by Cameron Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, Le Roy.
