Thomas D. Anstey, 53, an avid boater, died Monday (May 12, 1997) in his home on 
Ryan Road. 

 A native of Miami, Anstey was a longtime resident of the Medina area. He was a 1962 
graduate of Medina High School and a 1964 graduate of the former Erie County 
Technical Institute 

 He worked for a time for Phinney Tool & Die Co. and then for the last 20 years as a 
heavy equipment operator for the Art Hill Excavation Co. 

 Anstey enjoyed working outdoors. Besides being an avid boater, he was a lifelong 
racing enthusiast and mechanic. 

 Survivors include his father, Donald E.; his stepmother, the former Evelyn Schrader; 
three stepbrothers, David, Larry and Steven Schrader; and a stepsister, Linda Paron. 
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St 
Buffalo News, The (NY) — Tuesday, May 13, 1997
