Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl 
St., for Karen E. Ralph, 54, who was a former Republican chairwoman in Shelby and 
was active in civic affairs in the Medina area. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery, 
Millville. 

 Mrs. Ralph died Saturday (Oct. 14, 1995) in Medina Mormorial Hospital after a long 
illness. 

 The former Karen Howe was a lifelong resident of the Medina area and graduated 
from Medina High School in 1959. 

 She was a member of East Shelby Community Bible Church and active in local 
politics. She was a Republican committeewoman for 20 years and served as 
chairwoman of the Shelby Republican Committee for the past 14 years. 

 For 25 years, she was a member of the East Shelby Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and 
had served as its president. 

 Mrs. Ralph was employed as a teacher's aide with the Board of Cooperative 
Educational Services in the Medina area, working with children in special-education 
classes. She was the former den mother for Den 1, Pack 33, Cub Scouts. 

 Surviving are her husband, Charles J.; two sons, James and Todd; three sisters, Carol 
Johnson of Middleport, Betty Wood and Kathy Balcerzak; and three grandchildren.
