Orton R. Johnson, 67, a longtime employee of the FMC Corp., died unexpectedly 
Tuesday (July 27, 1999) in Medina Memorial Hospital. 

 Johnson, who was know as Junior, was born in Albion, grew up in the Albion-Barre 
area and graduated from Albion High School in 1950. 

 He served in the Army during the Korean War. 

 Johnson had worked for FMC in Middleport for 42 years, retiring in 1994 after 15 
years as a stock clerk. 

 He was a former treasurer for the East Shelby Fire Company and the Machinists Union 
1180, as well as the original treasurer for the Middleport Community Credit Union. 

 A former 4-H leader, he enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. 

 Survivors include his wife, the former, Carol M. Howe; a son, Alan; two sisters, Shirley 
Tiedi of Conesus Lake and Marcia Hayward of Cooper City, Fla.; and a grandson. 

 A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., today in Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 
Pearl St., Medina.
