Milton Jay Locklear, age 67 of Kennett Square, died Friday November 4, 2005 at the 
Chester County Hospital. He was the husband of Doris Shivery Locklear with whom he 
shared 22 years of marriage. Born in Houston, Texas he was the son of the late 
Alexander J. and Alva J. Trainer Locklear. Jay graduated from Brackenridge High 
School in San Antonio in 1955. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1960, 
received certification to practice engineering in 1966 and attended the MIT Executive 
Training Program. For much of his career he was a mechanical engineer working for 
Westinghouse retiring in 1988. Afterwards, he had a second career in real estate with 
Prudential Fox and Roach in Chadds Ford, Pa. Jay was a member of the American 
Society of Mechanical Engineers, a member of the Kennett and Radley Run Country 
Clubs, a member of the Board of Realtors, and the San Antonio Road Runners Car 
Cub. Jay?s hobbies and interests included golf, tinkering and Texas barbecue. He was 
an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Jay always looked for a 
person?s positive qualities. He was a kind soul, true gentleman and a gentle man. 
Survivors include in addition to his wife: One Son: Andrew Locklear of Malvern, PA 
Three Daughters: Gayleen LeFevre of West Chester, Libby Madarasz of Exton, PA PJ 
Oeste of Medina, OH Two Stepdaughters: Terry Augerot of Charlotte, NC Paige Marra 
of West Chester, PA One Sister: Pat Evertsen of San Antonio, TX 
8 Grandchildren: Will, Peter, Cole, Mary, Jay, Ben, Alex, and Claire He was 
predeceased by his first wife of 22 years, Glenda Locke Locklear 
A memorial service celebrating Jay?s life will be held 5PM Tuesday November 8, 2005 
at the Willowdale Chapel 675 Unionville Rd, (Rt 82) Kennett Square, PA 19348. 
Friends and family may call from 4-5 before the service. Interment will be held 
privately. Contributions may be made to either The Salvation Army 22 N. Ninth St. 
Darby, PA 19023 or the United Way of Southern Chester County 106 W. State St. 
Kennett Square, PA 19348. Arrangements are being handled by the Kuzo & Gofus 
Funeral Home (610-444-4116) of Kennett Square.

Jay was my coworker and friend from my Westinghouse days in Texas, Broomall, and 
Orlando. He cared for the business, the customers, and employees. I'm honored that 
he was my friend, and offer my condolences to his family and friends.
