Services for Virginia L. Ashby, 84, of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 
August 11, 2009 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial 
Park. Mrs. Ashby passed away on August 6, 2009.

Virginia was born on July 19, 1925 to Oral L. and Sarah Elydia Nichols Satterfield in 
Ivan, Texas. She married Paul Ashby in Waco on April, 22, 1944. He preceded her in 
death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Gary and wife Terri and John and wife Dianne, both of 
Lubbock; one daughter, Gloria Ashby of Lubbock; two stepsisters; grandchildren, 
Candace and husband Chris Donaghey, Whitney Ashby Norman and husband Randy, 
Taylor, Amy and Angie Ashby, and Ginnie and Lance Baker; two great-grandchildren; 
and longtime companion, Garland Casey.
