WENDOVER, NEV. He was born January 9, 1939 in Kilgore, TX and died June 15, 
2011 in Wendover, NV.

He was preceded in death by his father Milam Cowen, Mother Sallie Bessie McCraney, 
Brother James William (Bill) Cowen, and Son Jay Carter Cowen. He is survived by his 
sister Sonja, Husband George Travis of Jackson, LA, His Daughter Robin Watson of 
Aztec, NM, His Daughter Cindy and Husband Johnny Shoemaker of Brooklyn Park, 
MN, Grand Children Chrissy, Kassidy, Tiffany, Lisa, Jes, Andrew, Phillip, and 
Nathanial, 7 Great Grand Children, 4 Nephews and many other family and close 
friends. JFred worked for MTI Montgomery Trucking and was a member of the Masons. 
In his life he had been an insurance sales man, news caster, radio DJ, manager of the 
Ector County Coliseum, but his love was in trucking. He spent the majority of his 
career as a truck driver and as a supervisor for truck drivers.

Services will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Jackson, La. at a later date.
