Dudrey, Bonnie Tennant, 78, passed away on March 20, 2014 at Via Christi St. 
Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas in the presence of those who loved her. Bonnie 
was born on March 1, 1936 to Ira Weldon "Tex" and Elizabeth Hafford in Kansas City, 
MO. After completing her Associate's Degree from Kansas City Community College she 
received her Home Economics degree from Kansas State University in 1958. Later that 
year she began her married life with Jay Richard Tennant with whom they had two 
children Kevin Tennant and Janice Marie. After Jay's death in 1972, Bonnie joined the 
Kansas Wheat Commission in Hutchinson, Kansas as a home economist, a role she 
held until 1981. In January of that year, Bonnie married Carl Dudrey from St. John and 
moved to Stafford, KS to establish their new home. In her 33 years as an active 
member of the Stafford community, she was a loving home maker and served as an 
office manager for Dudrey Cattle Company. In addition, she took on active roles in a 
number of community and philanthropic groups including PEO, Modern Homemakers 
and the South Central Kansas Community Foundation. She also served on the boards 
for the Stafford Hospital and Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, Kansas. Those left with 
precious memories are her loving husband of 33 years, Carl Dudrey, her daughter 
Janice Marie (West Chester, PA) and son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Karen 
Tennant (Dardenne Prairie, MO) and three grandchildren, Kyle, Kory, and Kailey 
Tennant. Bonnie also leaves two sisters and their families Dorothy Cannady, Judy and 
Jack Wiseley, Mike and Terri Cannady, Tim and Carol Cannady, Jill and Mike Chisam, 
and Jennifer Wiseley. The family has planned a service to celebrate the life of Bonnie 
Dudrey on Monday, March 24 at 2 pm to be held at the United Methodist Church in 
Stafford, KS. The burial service will take place immediately following at Fairview Park 
Cemetery in St John, KS. Visitation will be from 1-5 pm on Sunday, March 23, at Minnis 
Chapel in Stafford, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to restore the steps 
of the United Methodist Church in Stafford. This will help complete a project Bonnie 
worked tirelessly for and continue her ministry in the community. Send donations to the
