LEON BARRON of 1908 College Avenue, Gainesville, Texas, was born 25 July 1914 in 
Melissa, Collin, Texas the son of Virgil and Bessie Smith Barron. He was married to 
Amy Hafford on August 6, 1939 and they observed their 50th wedding anniversry in 
1989.
Leon died 30th May, 1992 at Denton Regional Medical Center. 
Graveside services were held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Woodbine. The Rev. Jim 
Dorff, pastor , First United Methodist Church, officiating. 
Leon was a U. S. Navy veteran. He was an employee of the Babcock Brothers in 
Gainesville. He was the owner of a glass shop. He also formerly owned Henley & 
Barron Feed Store, and he spent the last 13 years as a fireman, the last two years as 
a fire marshall. He was retired.
He was survived by his wife Amy Barron of Gainesville; daughters Barbara Inglish of 
Gainsville and Karen McCormick of Grand Prairie; sister Ruby Stewart of Houston, 
Alabama; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
