 PHARR - Charles Daniel Cannady, Jr., age 81, born July 28, 1929 in Kansas City, MO 
passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011. 

 He and his wife, Ann, have been long time residents of Tropic Star Resort, Pharr, TX. 
Charles retired from SWBC in 1985 after 35 years of years. Married for 60 years, he 
and Ann traveled the US visiting all 50 states. He was active in the Telephone 
Pioneers Club and the Airstream Travel Club. He was a member of Abdallah Shrine in 
Overland Park, KS. He also retired from the US Naval Reserve after 35 years of 
service. He was Councilman for the City of Merriam, KS for 16 years. He helped in the 
program taking crippled children back and forth from the Valley to Houston. 

 He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Cannady; 2 married sons, Michael & Terri 
Cannady, Lynn, MA; Timothy & Carol Cannady, Olathe, KS; 3 sisters, Dolores Schmidt, 
K.C., MO; Shirley Vernon, Ft. Worth, TX; and Debra Belt, Prairie Village, KS. 

 A Memorial Service will be held at Tropic Star at a later date. Arrangements were 
entrusted to the care of Skinner Silva Funeral Home of Pharr.
