Mary Evelyn “Evie” Olney, 39, was suddenly taken Home to be with the Lord on 
Saturday, July 18, 2009.

Born Jan. 13, 1970, in Greenville, S.C., she married Nathanael Olney of Godfrey in 
1994.

A military wife since 1995, she and her family have been Navarre residents for the 
past four years, stationed at Hurlburt Field. A member of the First Baptist Church of 
Navarre, she graduated with honors as an L.P.N. from Okaloosa-Walton Community 
College.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 15 years, Sgt. Nathanael Olney; 
children, Tommy, Mary “Zoe”, and Ian; mother, Ann VanGeison; father and stepmother, 
Jerry and Sue Campbell; sister, Leah O’Kelley; special aunt and uncle, Ruth Briley and 
Dan Thrift; extended siblings, Jennifer Marchman, Ethan Olney, Barton Olney, and 
Janna Marinelli; and her in-laws, the Rev. Thomas and Leola Olney of Godfrey.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at the First Baptist 
Church of Navarre, with her father-in-law, Rev. Tom Olney and Rev. Jim Pennington, 
officiating.

Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
