David William Steer 
David William Steer, 50, Shawnee, died Friday at a local hospital.

He was born July 26, 1952, in Laguna Beach, Calif., to Earl and Barbara (South) 
Steer. He attended Laguna Beach High School and Northern Arizona University in 
Flagstaff, Ariz.

On May 21, 1977, he married MaryAnn Moats in Sedona, Ariz. She preceded him in 
death on Feb. 6, 1998.

He worked at ExxonMobil Chemical Plant and was awarded a customer service award 
for plant quality steering and plant quality trainer. He had lived in Shawnee since 
1980.

Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly and Caitlin Steer of the home; parents, Earl and 
Barbara Steer, Laguna beach, Calif.; brothers, Brad and his wife Betsy Steer of 
Houston, Texas, and Bill Steer of Newport Beach, Calif.; mother-in-law and father-in-
law, Mary and Pat Moats of Shawnee, and niece and nephew, Tyler and Carly of 
Houston, Texas.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. 
Bob Searl officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of 
Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
