Leland Vincent Jones passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012. He was born on July 
14, 1928 in Moorwood, OK to the late Louis and Martha Jones. Leland served with the 
Army during the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of a purple heart and two bronze 
stars. On December 21, 1952 he married Barbara Jane Maule they shared 49 years of 
marriage before her passing on May 8, 2001. Leland is survived by four children, 
Cynthia (Gary) Crother, Christine (William) Baldwin, Michael (Vicki) Jones, Susan 
(Glen) Jones, 8 grandchildren, Gentry, Garrett, Chance, Katelyn, Justin, Spencer, 
Casey and Mackenzie. Also surviving are his beloved brothers Keith (Ann) Jones, Earl 
Jones and Jean (Gail) Jones. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in 
death by a brother John Allen Jones and a sister Louise Fairburn. A celebration of 
Leland's life will take place on Friday, August 31 at 11:30AM at Heritage Funeral 
Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Road, Peoria with a visitation starting at 10:30AM. 
Burial with military honors will follow at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 
Phoenix. ARIZONA REPUBLIC 29 AUG. 2012
