name from WW1 draft registration. At that time he is living in Detroit, Mich. Says he 
was born in Asbury Park, NJ Says he is mental defective liging at the Reed School 
387 Hubbard Ave in Detroit. Also says mental and physical defective incapable of any 
service. medium build, slender, brown eyes, light brown hair, heart action weak, 
weighs 94 pounds, "mentally defective and ... physically Type: microcapholi... mental 
age 7 years" (cannot read full statement because microfilm has cut off the edge of the 
card. Per google, word is microcephelic. Microcephaly is a condition present at birth 
where child's head is much smaller than normal. Have small brain and usually mental 
retardation. Can be from exposure to harmful substances, or genetic, or infection, or 
alcohol, or maternal diabetes.

residence 1820 Chestnut St., received from Detroit, Mich., occ student, no date of 
death
