Dominick J. Mariconda, age 95, of Stratford, beloved husband of 74 years to the late 
Eleanor J. Donofrio Mariconda, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 with 
his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on February 21, 1923, he was a son of 
the late Tomasso and Vincenza Rutolo Mariconda and was a longtime resident of 
Stratford. Dominick was proud to have served in the United States Army Air Corps 
during World War II. Before his retirement he was a music supervisor with the 
Bridgeport and Stratford Public School Systems in addition to being an active 
professional musician his entire life. He played in many bands in the Bridgeport area 
including the Gene Hull's Jazz Giants, the Stratford Community Band, The Star 
Dusters, and the New Editions to name a few. He was very involved at St. Mark's 
Church in Stratford where he served as music director for many years. His greatest 
enjoyment was the time he spent with his family.
