Valeria A. Rugal Rodia, 83, a government supervisor who was a devoted Flyers fan, 
died Wednesday at her daughter's home in Voorhees. 

A resident of South Philadelphia for seven decades, Mrs. Rodia worked for 30 years at 
what is now the Defense Personnel Support Center, on South 20th Street, where 
uniforms were made for the military. 

She retired in 1968, as a supervisor in the textile department. 

During free hours, Mrs. Rodia was fanatical about the Flyers, her family said. "She 
was their biggest fan," a grandson said. 

She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. 

Her husband was the late Daniel Rodia, a former bantamweight boxer who fought 
under the name Danny Dix. 

Survivors: her daughter, Dorothy F. McGuckin; sons, Robert, Edward and Richard; six 
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three sisters. 

Services: viewing, 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow, Shea Funeral Home, 29th and Dickinson 
Streets; Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 a.m. Monday, St. Gabriel Church, across the 
street from the funeral home. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.
