Mr. Sabatino A. DiMauro, Sr., "Sam", age 87, formerly of New Castle, DE and Ocala, 
FL, died on Sunday, August 20, 2006, at Kent General Hospital, in Dover.

Born March 5, 1919 in Wilmington, Mr. DiMauro was the son of the late Giuseppi 
DiMauro and Maria Pedicone DiMauro. He proudly served his country in the US Army 
during World War II, earning a Bronze Star for valor in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. A 
carpenter and flooring contractor by profession, he was a member of the carpenter's 
union for 47 years, until his retirement in 1984. He also owned and operated 
Continental Custom Floors from 1950-1975. During his career Mr. DiMauro lent his 
expertise to future contractors as the Armstrong Flooring instructor at the Howard 
Career Center. Even following his retirement, he was much sought after for his talents 
as handyman by the residents of his gated community in Ocala, FL, where he was also 
well-known as the neighborhood's security guard. A devout Catholic, Mr. DiMauro was 
a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima, in New Castle, and held both 3rd and 4th Degrees 
years and past president of the Wilmington Manor Lions Club, in New Castle. He was 
also a lifetime member of the Handyman Club of America.

He is survived by his wife, Maria A. Cirino DiMauro; their 5 children, The Rev. Joseph 
DiMauro, OSFS, of Center Valley, PA, Rosemary Engle, of Dover, Beatrice Cheseroni, 
of Wilmington, Sabatino A. DiMauro, Jr., of Newark, and Michael DiMauro, of 
Wilmington; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 
2006, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where 
friends may call after 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial 
Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
