World War II vet; owned/operated auto repair shops

Ralph Joseph Brescia Sr., 84, of Aston, a World War II veteran, died Jan. 17 at the 
Wallingford Nursing Home.



A Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Brescia served in the South Pacific during World War II 
and was awarded two Purple Hearts.

When he returned from the war, Mr. Brescia owned and operated automotive repair 
businesses affiliated with Esso, Exxon and Texaco until he retired.

Mr. Brescia was a member of The Knights of Columbus, where he ran a Monday night 
bingo game at St. Joseph Church in Aston.

Survivors: Sons, Joseph T. Brescia of Darby, Ralph J. Brescia of Newtown Square; 
daughter, Joyce B. Binder of Broomall; sister, Josephine Valentino of Springfield; three 
grandchildren.

Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, Concord Road, Aston.

Visitation: 12:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

Burial: Arlington Mausoleum.
