Thelma Jean "TJ" Agnes passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her 
side on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
TJ was born on November 12, 1939 to Fred Lee and Gladys Mae Koskie. She spoke 
fondly of her time growing up on the farm in Flora, IL as the "baby girl" of 7 children. 
She took the lessons she learned there & carried them with her as she began her own 
family. Her 3 children were what she considered her greatest accomplishment in life. 
TJ was their provider and nurturer. She willingly sacrificed any personal comforts or 
conveniences in effort to make her children's lives more enriched. Ensuring her 
children grew to know Christ and accept him as their Heavenly Father was TJ' s 
passion and she can find peace in the outcome of her efforts.
In 1977, TJ married Joseph Agnes and together they cultivated a family unit that has 
proven unbreakable. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, TJ was loving and 
generous. While she was always available to give valuable advice and gentle comfort, 
she also demanded accountability and pushed her children and grandchildren to be 
the best person they could possibly be.
TJ has been a light in so many of our life's and we can rest assured that she has 
traded in her troubles for a crown.
TJ will be joining her Parents, Fred & Gladys Koskie, Brothers & Sister: Fred Koskie Jr., 
Ruby Hurst, Earl Koskie at the right hand of God and will be lovingly remembered by 
her Husband: Joseph Agnes, Children: Kelly Gober and her husband Fred, Terry 
Compton and her husband Steve & Robert Edgar, Step Children: Joseph Agnes Jr., 
Jimmy Agnes, Teresa Sanders, Chris Agnes & Lisa Newman, Brothers & Sister: Aletha 
Koskie, Bo Koskie, & Richard Koskie as well as by her grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, August 5th 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home 750 
E Main St., Gun Barrel City, TX 75156
Graveside Service will be Saturday, August 6th, 9:00 AM, Oak Lawn Cemetery, 18056 
US Highway 175, Mabank, TX 75147
Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 6th, 11:00 AM, Cedar Creek Bible Church, 
700 N Seven Points Blvd. Kemp, TX 75143
While flowers are not discouraged, the family would like to mention the Cal Farley 
Boys Home as this was a, cause close to TJ's heart should you feel inclined to make a 
donation in her honor.
