William J. Rodia died in his Port Townsend home of cardiac arrest. He was 86. 

He was born to John and Rosie (Aplaria) Rodia in Seattle, where he grew up. 

He served in the Army during World War II, in 1943-46. 

Stationed in central Burma and India, he was a corporal, directing supplies to and from 
front lines. This included hauling fuel for the Flying Tigers. He was awarded the 
Asiatic Pacific Service, Victory and Good Conduct medals. 

He married Ellen Stahl in Seattle on June 20, 1953. 

Mr. Rodia worked for Burger Steel as a machinist and welder before moving to Paul 
Townsend. 

He retired as head oiler for Crown Zellerbach on Feb. 1, 1982. 

He was a member of the Elks Lodge since 1978, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and 
gardening. 

He was known among family and friends for his spaghetti. He also enjoyed watching 
games of the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks. 

Mr. Rodia is survived by his wife, daughters Carol Davis and son David Rodia, all of 
Port Townsend; son Jerry Clemens of Port Hadlock; and brother Alfred Rodia of Kent. 

Services: At his request, none. Inurnment in Laurel Grove Cemetery will be private. 
Kosec Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
