July 14, 1935-Oct. 30, 2004 Donald William Rodia, 69, of Los Osos died Saturday. He 
was born in Los Angeles and was an electrical engineer. 

Survivors include his daughters, Dawn Rodden of Los Osos and Loretta Kimberly of 
San Diego; son, Dean of La Habra; sisters, Edith Buzek of Perris and Margarette 
Fernandez of Anza; brother, Rocky of Covina; and six grandchildren. 

No services were planned. 

Arrangements: Poway-Bernardo Mortuary.

Donald William Rodia, 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, in San 
Diego. 

A memorial Mass to celebrate and honor his life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 
12, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Los Osos, with Rev. Heibar 
Castaneda presiding. 

Don was born in East L.A., July 14, 1935, to Matilda and Archibald Rodia, the 
youngest of seven children. He met and married his high school sweetheart in 1956 
and moved to the Whittier area, where they raised three children. Don was an 
aerospace engineer for over 30 years before retiring. He took a few years off to start 
his own landscape business, which was always his passion. He lived in La Habra for 
20 years before moving to Los Osos. It was there, as a resident of Morro Shores 
Mobile Home Park, that he was able to revive his passion for landscaping by helping 
neighbors with their yards and working part time as the park maintenance man. He 
enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren, both in Southern California and 
Los Osos. 

Don was well liked by everyone who came to know him. He will be missed by all of his 
family and friends, including his ex-wife, Lorraine Teece, with whom he remained good 
friends with. 

Donald is survived by his two daughters, Dawn Rodden and husband Robert of Los 
Osos and Loretta Kimberly and husband Dan of San Diego; son, Dean Rodia and wife 
Susan of La Habra; nine grandchildren, Alec, Marcie and Jenna Rodden, Carly, Cayla 
and Nicholas Rodia, Kollin and Logan Kimberly, and Dominic Jimenez; brother, Rocky 
Rodia; sisters, Edith Buzek and Marguerite Fernandes; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was proceeded in death by his sisters, Teresa, Tillie and Norma.
