LOMA LINDA -- A Murrieta teenager who sustained a major head injury in a Feb. 4 car
accident in Temecula, died Friday, according to an official with the San Bernardino
County Sheriff's Department.
Lacey Lynn Rodia, 16, was injured in a crash at Highway 79 South and Margarita
Road and had been at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda since Feb.
5.
On Feb. 4, the 2000 Honda Civic that Rodia was driving collided with a 1991 Plymouth
Voyager driven by Berry Saisan, 41, of San Marcos, authorities said. The impact
pushed the Voyager into a 2002 Toyota Highlander, driven by Michael Smith, 47, of
Temecula.
Temecula Police believe the Civic was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on
Highway 79 South and had passed a slower vehicle before Rodia lost control, which
caused the vehicle to slide through the intersection, crashing into the Voyager.
