KOLCUN John "Chic" Joseph Kolcun Jr., age 85, of Milford, died on Saturday, March 
8, 2008 in Milford Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on February 22, 
1923, to the late John Joseph Kolcun, Sr. and Anna Ferko Kolcun in Plainfield, NJ. He 
was the beloved husband of Victoria Rodia Kolcun for sixty years. He was a World 
War II veteran, who proudly served in the US Army. He retired from Phillips Medical 
System in Shelton after 15 years of service. John was an avid Red Sox fan and was 
proud to show his pride. He also loved to read and took a strong interest in building 
model cars, ships and airplanes. John is the loving father of two daughters, Deborah 
Giannini and her husband Duane of Newtown and Joan Krusinski and her husband 
Richard of Milford. He is also survived by a sister Anne Dattilo of Stratford. He was 
the proud and loving grandfather of Amy, Alison, Amanda, Melissa, Megan and John 
and the great grandfather of Molly, Emma and Olivia. He is also survived by many 
nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother Michael Kolcun and sister 
Margaret Kafara. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday 
(TODAY) March 11, 2008, from 5 to 8 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 
Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 
12th at 12:30 p.m. in St. Mary's Church, Gulf St., Milford. Interment will follow in Kings
