raised in southwest Philadelphia, Pa. John attended T.G. Morton 
Elementary School, Tilden Junior High School, and Bok Vocational 
School, all in Philadelphia, Pa. He was an honor student during his 
last four years of school.
John served in the United States Navy during World War Two, from July 
31, 1943, to Feb. 6, 1946. He worked for many years in electrical 
products manufacturing, 18 years in switchgear manufacturing, and 15 
years as an electrical draftsman for I-T-E Switchgear. He retired from 
Brown Boveri, Inc., Springhouse, Pa., in Oct. 1984.
John is interested in music, and spent two years at the Philadelphia 
Musical Academy studying organ and piano.
